How to Cancel Peloton
While I’ve continued to love my bike and membership since 2016, I realize that there are people who may want to know how to cancel Peloton.
That would be how to cancel a Peloton membership or subscription, or an app trial.
Or maybe you bought a Peloton (bike, tread, rower, guide) and now you want to cancel the order.
I’ve got you covered as I’ve researched how to cancel everything and anything Peloton.
How to cancel Peloton membership
In this article on how I used the Peloton return policy, I’d explained how to cancel a Peloton subscription. But I’ve decided to expand on that advice here.
You would think that you have to reach out to Peloton to cancel your membership. You would be wrong.
In fact, you cancel based on how you signed up for and use your Peloton subscription or membership.
Cancel Peloton based on how you subscribed
For example, if you subscribe through your iPad or iPhone, then you have likely purchased the Peloton app through the Apple Store.
So to cancel your Peloton app subscription, you’ll need to visit the App Store to cancel it. You can visit the App Store on your iPhone or iPad to do this.

It’s the same if you have an Android device and get your Peloton app subscription that way.
You’ll need to go to the Google Play Store to cancel the subscription.
To cancel your Peloton membership via the web, you’ll go to the Peloton website, click over to My Membership and then scroll down to Cancel Membership.
Cancel Peloton membership on Roku TV
If you use your Roku TV to access Peloton, you can cancel there, too.
Go to the Peloton channel, log into your profile, then use the remote to go to the gear icon on the left side of the screen for settings.
From there toggle to Manage Subscription then Cancel Subscription.
Keep in mind that if you’re a secondary user of the membership, you cannot cancel the subscription.
It’s Peloton’s policy that only the primary subscriber can cancel.
So if you have more than one Peloton subscriber on your account, make sure that you’re logged in as the primary user before trying to cancel your subscription or membership.
Peloton membership on Amazon Fire TV
Did you sign up for Peloton through Amazon? It could have been on the Amazon website or app store, through your Fire TV or a Fire TV tablet.
Regardless, you’ll need to log in, head over to My Subscriptions, select your Peloton subscription and then Cancel Subscription. This will cancel your membership.
Auto-renewal of Peloton membership
Keep in mind that when you cancel your Peloton membership, you also need to turn off auto-renew on Amazon. Otherwise, Amazon will continue to charge your credit card on file.
On the other hand, even if you cancel your Peloton subscription and turn off auto-renew, you will still have access to your Peloton account until the expiration date of the period you last paid for.
Can you use Peloton without a subscription
If you’ve decided to cancel your Peloton subscription and you own a piece of Peloton equipment, unfortunately you won’t be able to keep using it the way you could when you had your membership.
Therefore, it would make the most sense to sell your Peloton Bike or Tread and at least recoup some of the costs of buying it.
How to cancel Peloton free trial
When you sign up for a Peloton free trial, you’ll be required to enter your credit card information.
There is a simple reason for this: if you do not cancel your free trial before the period is over (be it 30 days, 60 days or 90 days), you will automatically switch over to a paid membership.
So if you don’t think you’ll want to continue after your free trial, make a note on your calendar to chat with Peloton support on day 29 (for a 30 day free trial), day 59 (for a 60 day free trial) or day 89 (for a 90 day free trial) to cancel the next day.
How to cancel Peloton rental
Peloton introduced a program to allow people to rent a Peloton bike–kind of like a rent-to-own program.
One of the attractions for many people was the fact that Peloton says that you can cancel at any time.
However, it’s important to understand that if you cancel the Peloton rental, you still have to cancel the Peloton All-Access Membership.
Otherwise, Peloton will continue your subscription and continue charging you for it.
Cancel Peloton order
Now let’s say that you’ve ordered something from Peloton and now you want to cancel it.
Well, like a Peloton subscription you want to cancel, how you stop Peloton from fulfilling your order depends on how you purchased it or who is delivering it.
Cancel Peloton store order
Maybe you visited your local Peloton store or showroom and purchased a piece of hardware but then you changed your mind.
Or you placed an order online for the new Peloton Row but are having buyer’s remorse.
Well, here’s the good news: as long as your order hasn’t moved from processing to shipping, you can still cancel the order.
Steps to cancel a Peloton equipment order
Here are the steps to cancel a Peloton equipment order that has not shipped yet.
One, log into your Peloton account on a computer i.e. the Peloton website.
Two, click on My Membership and then Orders on the dropdown menu. There you’ll see all of your Peloton orders. Find the one you want to cancel
Three, click on Order Details.
Four, next to the Print Receipt link should be a Cancel Order link. Click that to start the process.
Not all equipment orders are cancellable
I emphasized “should be” a Cancel Order link because I just went through my own account to see if I could cancel my Peloton Row order–yes, I bit the bullet and got it after trying it out at the store near PSNY.
Anyway, even though my Row order is still processing and I haven’t gotten a delivery date yet, the website did not give me the option to cancel if I wanted to (I do not). So I would have to go through Peloton support.
Alternatively, you can find your order purchase confirmation from Peloton, and click through to get to the same page on the website to cancel.
Based on this Peloton support page, this seems to work for Bike and Tread orders only. So when in doubt, chat with support.
Once your equipment ships, you can’t cancel.
However, you can always use the Peloton 30-day home trial and then the Peloton return policy if necessary.
Peloton apparel order
If you want to cancel a Peloton apparel order you placed on the Peloton boutique, I’m sorry to say that you can’t.
The only way to fix the situation is to wait until your order arrives, then try to return or exchange it.
According to this Peloton support page, they simply do not allow you to cancel an apparel order once it is placed.
Canceling Peloton order on Amazon
Because you shopped for Peloton on Amazon, you’re going to have to head back to your Amazon account to deal with a cancellation or a return.
Peloton ordered from Dicks Sporting Goods
Now that Peloton has partnered with Dicks Sporting Goods, you have yet another way to purchase equipment and accessories.
However, let’s say you want to cancel a Bike or Tread purchase you made at Dicks. Well, you’re going to have to go through Dicks to do that.
Unfortunately, this page on the Dicks website says that order cancellations are not possible unless they’re done within 30 minutes of placing the order. Yikes!
Final thoughts on how to cancel Peloton
