Leah Ingram is a freelance writer, lifestyle and money-saving expert. Leah’s newest book, The Complete Guide to Paying for College, is chock full of ideas to help middle-class families pay for college. She is also the author of Suddenly Frugal: How to Live Happier and Healthier for Less, which compiles Leah’s unique money-saving advice, including how a family can save $25,000 a year. Her second title in the Suddenly Frugal series is Toss, Keep, Sell!: The Suddenly Frugal Guide to Cleaning Out the Clutter and Cashing In. There is now an audiobook version of Suddenly Frugal.

Since 2013 Leah has been a regular contributor to Parade Magazine’s online presence Parade.com. Most recently she started turning her articles into Facebook Live videos. She’s also been doing Facebook Live broadcasts on the topic of paying for college. Here’s a recent Facebook Live Q&A with a college admissions officer:
Leah has brought her money-saving message to life in many ways. She’s appeared in local and national media interviews. She’s also had paid speaking appearances at colleges, libraries, business associations and other organizations. Here is some of the feedback from those talks:
Leah Ingram is an engaging speaker who obviously loves sharing her ideas on how to enjoy life without spending lots of money. Her enthusiasm is contagious and she has a great sense of humor. Our women’s group thoroughly enjoyed her presentation.
Leah Ingram gave an enthusiastic talk that was “spot on” for our Princeton-based audience. Her presentation was professional, informative and fun. Leah was receptive to the large, interactive crowd by answering questions and elaborating on specific areas of interest. And she was easy to work with!
I reached out to Leah as both an author and a professional speaker for Financial Pathways at Bay Path College, a financial literacy workshop series for women. Leah’s blog and her “common sense approach to frugal living” set the stage for a very timely topic of “living well within our means.” Leah spoke to an group of over 140 women covering a multi-generational audience, ages 18-70+. Her presentation was exactly what I had expected. I would recommend Leah for similar engagements.
In additional to her freelance writing and book authoring, Leah has been entrepreneurial in most of her pursuits. In 2015 she formed Pawsome Doggie LLC and launched a dog lovers’ e-commerce store called Pawsome Doggie. She is selling cake pans shaped like dog breeds, dog birthday party supplies and unique gifts for crazy dog people like herself.
Her many years spent writing online have given her an SEO leg up when launching Pawsome Doggie, and selling online using both a shopping cart platform and Amazon FBA services. She’s also gained experience working with vendors in and importing from China, fulfilling orders via dropshipping and designing new consumer-facing products that she now sells via her online store.
Leah was media-trained while an editor at Woman’s Day Special Interest Publications. Quickly she became a go-to, on-air expert for national and regional TV segments. Her on-air demos have focused on family-related topics, including gift tips, etiquette advice and shopping suggestions. She’s appeared on “Wake Up with Al,” “Good Morning America,” ABC News Now, the Live Well Network, and “Good Day New York,” among other programs.
In addition, she’s been a spokesperson for many national brands. These include Bank of America, Family Dollar, Microtel Inns, T-Mobile, Starbucks, and Valpak, among others. For three years Leah was the financial expert for HomeAdvisor, the free-to-consumer home improvement contractor website referral service. Furthermore, you may have read her money-saving advice in publications such as AARP, Good Housekeeping and Parade.
Two times in as many months clients came to her when they needed an emergency, substitute spokesperson. First, this happened when a client’s booked spokesperson fell ill. Next, it was when their original spokesperson was unable to maintain a commitment. Leah never lets her clients down.
If you need a last-minute spokesperson, let Leah know. She is willing to hop a train to New York or a plane to any North American city to make your media tour a success.
