Wiggle Butt Dogs
I never knew about wiggle butt dogs until we adopted our pup Buffy. Buffy was a cocker spaniel, golden retriever, beagle mix with a docked tail. He came that way from the rescue. He was four when we adopted him.
As you can imagine, without a tail to wag, his hindquarters had to do something when he was happy or excited. And thatโs where the wiggle butt part of this came into play.

In fact, Iโd never experienced or heard of wiggle butt dogs until a friend referred to Buffy this way. Turns out the wiggling isnโt unique to my mixed breed rescue.
The term โwiggle buttโ is often associated with Australian Shepherds. However, many other breeds also exhibit this behavior.
Itโs important to note that dogs with a tail can also have a wiggle butt. In fact, some dogs with shorter tails, such as Corgis, are known for their particularly exuberant wiggle butts. Like I said, Buffy had a docked tail and he was definitely a wiggle butt.
