Graduate Hotel Locations: Where to Stay in College Towns

These days, you’ll find Graduate Hotel locations in many collegiate place. That is, it is a relatively new chain of hotels that target college towns. Thus their name.

Right now, there are more than three dozen locations, primarily in the United States. However, there are also Graduate Hotels in the United Kingdom.

Also, I just updated this article to reflect two additional Graduate Hotel locations that will be opening soon in college towns.

How I learned about Graduate Hotels

So, how did I learn about this unique chain of hotels?

When I started writing my roundups of hotels near colleges with Peloton bikes.

You see, the majority of these hotels have Peloton bikes in the hotel gym.

However, not all do.

What makes these hotels special

Each location is decorated to reflect the college it is located near. Or at least the town in which it is situated.

For example, the Graduate Hotel Eugene is located close to the University of Oregon. So, don’t be surprised if you see the Oregon Duck worked into the hotel motifs.

Also, with the school’s colors green and yellow, you’ll see lots of decor in those hues.

It’s the same with the Graduate Hotel in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Except in this instance you’ll find a makeshift basketball court woven into the lobby carpet to celebrate the UNC Tar Heels.

In case you didn’t know, basketball is a big deal here, as it is in many other college towns.

Finally, if you visit the Graduate Hotel in Ann Arbor, Michigan, you’ll see maize and blue everywhere.

Also, it helps that the property is literally on the edge of the University of Michigan campus.

Usually, you’ll see those college colors made into a unique plaid pattern.

As of this writing (2023), there are 31 Graduate Hotel locations in the United States open.

Many of these are hotels with Peloton bikes.

You’ll find these uniquely collegiate hotels in the following states. Then, after that list, I’ll give you an alphabetical run down of the specific locations with Graduate Hotels.

Annapolis, Maryland

The Graduate Annapolis hotel is located in the heart of the Annapolis Arts District and very close to the U.S. Naval Academy. Like many Graduate hotels in college towns or near universities, the Graduate Annapolis has Pelotons in the hotel gym. In fact, it has two, shown below.

You’ll find mementos from the University of Georgia all over the place at the Graduate Hotel Athens.

Berkeley, California

The Graduate Berkeley

The Graduate Berkeley hotel has one Peloton bike.

Also, the hotel has three electric car charging stations for guests to use.

If you want to work out at the Graduate Hotel Bloomington, you can take an Orangetheory Fitness class, as there is an Orangetheory location attached to the hotel.

Chapel Hill, North Carolina

The Graduate Chapel Hill has multiple Peloton bikes in its fourth floor fitness center for Tar Heels who want to keep their Peloton streak going.

Charlottesville, Virginia

Located across the street from the UVA campus, the Graduate Hotel Charlottesville has a Peloton bike in its fitness center.

Cincinnati, Ohio

Graduate Cincinnati

I can confirm that the Graduate Cincinnati hotel has two Peloton bikes in its 24-hour fitness center. See the Facebook post below.

Columbia, South Carolina

Right on the campus of the University of South Carolina is the Graduate Columbia hotel. It’s dog friendly, hip and has at least one Peloton bike.

You’ll find one Peloton bike at the Graduate Hotel Columbus.

East Lansing, Michigan

According to the Expedia page for the Graduate East Lansing, there is one Peloton bike in this hotel’s fitness center.

The Graduate East Lansing is located super close to Michigan State University.

Eugene, Oregon

When I checked out the Graduate Eugene, I watched a video of the University of Oregon duck mascot riding the Peloton bike in the hotel gym.

Evanston, Illinois

Near Northwestern University, the Graduate Hotel Evanston seems to be the only location with a Peloton bike in this college town on Lake Michigan.

Fayetteville, Arkansas

The Graduate Fayetteville hotel is quite close to the University of Arkansas campus. Also, it has Peloton bikes in the fitness center.

Iowa City, Iowa

The Graduate Hotel Iowa City is walkable to the University of Iowa campus and has multiple Peloton bikes.

Knoxville, Tennessee

There is at least one Peloton bike at the Graduate Hotel Knoxville.

Lincoln, Nebraska

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is a four-minute walk from the Graduate Hotel Lincoln location in town.

Madison, Wisconsin

The Graduate Hotel Madison is practically on the shorefront of Lake Mendota. Plus, it’s a short ways away from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Located near the University of Minnesota, the Graduate Minneapolis hotel has one Peloton bike in the fitness center. You’ll find the gym on the first floor of the hotel, and it’s open 24 hours.

Nashville, Tennessee

The Graduate Hotel Nashville is close to Vanderbilt University. A Facebook friend just stayed there and confirmed there are two Peloton bikes.

New Haven, Connecticut

You’ll be staying on the edge of the Yale University campus, right on Chapel Street, if you book the Graduate Hotel New Haven.

New York City, New York (Roosevelt Island)

The Graduate Hotel NYC on Roosevelt Island has a single Peloton bike in the hotel gym.

Oxford, Mississippi

Located just a mile from Ole Miss, my sources tell me that the Graduate Oxford is a Peloton hotel.

Palo Alto, California

The Graduate Hotel Palo Alto is a short drive from Stanford University. In fact, its location is closer to Stanford Stadium (great for football Saturdays) than the school’s campus.

Providence, Rhode Island

The Graduate Providence hotel used to be the Biltmore.

Richmond, Virginia

The Graduate Hotel Richmond is much closer to Virginia Commonwealth University than it is to the University of Richmond.

The Graduate Hotel State College has a single Peloton bike on premises.

The Graduate Hotel Storrs is right on the University of Connecticut campus. A friend stayed there recently, because her high schooler was touring UConn.

It will take you all of two minutes to walk from the Graduate Tucson to the University of Arizona.

Currently, there are two of these hotels overseas.

They are both in England in the following places:

Cambridge, England

Graduate Hotel Cambridge

The Graduate Hotel Cambridge near the University of Cambridge has a Peloton bike in the fitness center.

Oxford, England

Randolph Hotel by Graduate

The Randolph Hotel by Graduate, aka the Graduate Hotel Oxford, is located in a regal, historical building.

Graduate hotel locations coming soon

Right now, there are four new locations that should be opening soon.

One is in Princeton, New Jersey, because, you know, Princeton University.

The other is in Dallas, Texas. That’s because it will be located near SMU or Southern Methodist University.

To be honest, this Dallas Graduate Hotel, formerly the Lumen Hotel, has been “coming soon” for more than three years. I hope it opens soon.

The remaining two locations that Graduate Hotel chain has planned to open are a Graduate Hotel location in Austin, where the University of Texas is, and Auburn, Alabama, for Auburn University.
