Peloton Specs: Equipment Weight and Dimensions

Before you purchase any piece of equipment from Peloton, you’ll want to know the specs. There are a couple of reasons you need to know how much a Peloton weighs or what its dimensions are.

Here, I’ll outline everything you’ll need to know if a Peloton will fit in your space, plus all the related specs.

Why Peloton specs are important

Please excuse any dog hair you see in the picture above. You see, we recently moved into a smaller place for the summer, and there was only room where our original Peloton bike would fit.

That room happened to have a carpet that clearly needs to be vacuumed. I should have followed my own advice about getting pet hair off carpet.

Anyway, I bring this up because I know that some people hold off buying certain exercise equipment for fear it won’t fit in a small space or any room in their home. Or, they don’t anticipate having to come up with a Plan B, which was the case with our last home.

We decided to make our workout space upstairs. Getting the Peloton bike upstairs was no problem, as you can see.

However, our NordicTrack treadmill was another story. You see, the staircase upstairs turned in a way that it was impossible to pivot the treadmill. Makes me think of that classic “Friends” episode with Ross yelling “Pivot!” as they try to take a couch up a turned staircase.

Anyway, we hadn’t planned ahead with measuring these kinds of specs. And that’s why our non-Peloton treadmill ended up in the basement. At least there was a straight-on staircase downstairs so it was easier to move.

Because we knew we were moving to a small space, we never moved that treadmill again. We left it for the people who got the house after us, once we learned they were runners. They were very appreciative.

Putting a Peloton in a small space

Which brings me back to Peloton specs and moving it in the small space of our new place. It’s a converted sunroom that’s only about 10 X 13. Thankfully, there was plenty of space for our original Peloton bike.

The only challenge was when I tried to do arms and light weight classes on the bike or intervals and arms classes. You know, the ones where you’re holding weights while sitting on the bike. My hands kept hitting one of the walls.

So, when I use the bike, I pull it out slightly so it’s more in the center of the room. Then, when I’m done, I move it back. I guess that’s the challenge of having a Peloton in a small space.

Now, let me outline the specs for each of the pieces of Peloton equipment. This is good information to have if you’re considering adding an additional Peloton to your workout space or fitness routine.

Peloton bike specs

As you know, there are two Peloton bikes to choose from. There is the Peloton bike. Then there is the Peloton Bike Plus.

They do not have the exact same specs. Besides the swivel screen and the auto-resistance feature, there are a few differences.

Original Peloton bike

Here are the dimensions of the Original Peloton bike. The footprint is approximately 48 inches by 24 inches.

That’s why the mat for under the Peloton bike is 36 inches by 72 inches. Or, three feet by six feet.

At its full height, the Peloton screen is about 65 inches. According to Peloton, the full dimensions for the Original bike is 59″ L x 53″ H x 23″ W.

Finally, the Original Peloton bike weighs 135 pounds.

Peloton Bike Plus

I didn’t realize that the Peloton Bike Plus has the same footprint as the original bike — 48 inches by 24 inches. And its overall dimensions are slightly smaller.

According to Peloton, the Bike Plus specs are 59″ L x 59″ H x 22″ W. However, it is slightly heavier. The Bike Plus weighs 140 pounds.

What are the Peloton rower’s specs?

Here’s what you need to know about the size, weight and more of this rowing machine. One, it has an almost eight foot by two foot footprint. It’s really long.

Its exact dimensions are 7 ft 10 in L x 24 in W. So you’ll need to make sure you have enough room for it.

This is what it looks like next to our Bike Plus.

You can see how much longer the rower is than the bike — not only from the machine itself but the mat underneath. If you order a Peloton Row mat, its dimensions are 36 x 102 inches.

Interestingly, the rower is not that much heavier than the bike. It’s 156 pounds.

Finally, when you get the Peloton Row, you’ll receive a kit to install a wall mount. This allows you to store it vertically or folded up.

However, if you don’t put it in a room with at least eight-foot ceilings, you won’t be able to store it vertically. We tried that at first. Now we have a lovely black smudge on the ceiling where the back of the rower hit the ceiling.

Peloton Tread specs

As you likely know, there are two versions of the Peloton Tread. There is the original treadmill, now known as the Tread Plus or Tread+. It was recalled a few years ago and, as far as I know, it’s still recalled.

Then, there is the regular Peloton Tread. It’s a smaller version and what I used when I took Marcel Dinkins’ walking class at an in-person class at Peloton studios.

Interestingly, the treadmill that instructors are teaching classes on at the Peloton Studios is the original Peloton Tread or Tread +.

Let me lay out the specs on both versions of the Peloton Tread.

Peloton Tread+ specs

Here are the dimensions for the original Peloton Tread, now known as the Peloton Tread+:

72.5” L x 36.5” W x 72” H 

How heavy is the original Peloton Tread. Really heavy.

The Tread Plus (since recalled) is 455 pounds. That is not a typo.

Peloton Tread specs

As far as the smaller, less expensive Peloton Tread, here are its dimensions and footprint:

68” L x 33” W x 62” H

While not as heavy at the Tread+, the Tread is still quite heavy. It weighs 290 pounds.

Other Peloton specs

Another thing you may be curious about is the Peloton power cord specs. I know I was.

After our recent move, I didn’t think that the power cord had made the move with us. And I didn’t think we would have another power cord laying around that we could use interchangeably, like you might for charging your phone or powering your computer.

So, I chatted with Peloton. FYI, if you need to replace the cord, it costs $55.

Now as far as the power cord specs, Peloton provides information about what kind of electricity you need to run the equipment. There isn’t any info on what you might need to look for in a replacement power cord from a different manufacturer. I’m sure that’s on purpose.

By the way, I ended up finding the power cord so I was all good.

Finally, of course, Peloton also makes the Guide. But since that’s a tabletop device, I didn’t think it was necessary to outline its specs. However, if I’m wrong about that, please let me know.
