What is Peloton Turkey Burn

I experienced the Peloton Turkey Burn classes the first full year we had our bike.

What is Peloton Turkey Burn?

It’s a series of classes that Peloton broadcasts on Thanksgiving.

In year’s past Turkey Burn classes were all live, but without riders in the studio.

However, in 2022, Peloton opened up some of the Turkey Burn classes for in-studio riders at the NYC Studios.

Unfortunately, those classes sold out in minutes, and I don’t think any waitlist spots have opened for them.

Idea behind Turkey Burn classes

So, what’s the idea behind these classes?

Well, if you’re in the United States, then you’re likely going to eat a lot of food on Thanksgiving.

These classes give you the opportunity to get on your Peloton bike before or after the meal.

What time are Turkey Burn classes

Peloton has scheduled all of the Turkey Burn classes for Thanksgiving morning. That would be morning on the East Coast.

I realize that’s not fair to West Coast riders–will they really get up at 5:00 a.m for a class on Thanksgiving?

This year the first Turkey Burn class starts at 8:30 a.m. The last Turkey Burn class starts at 11:00. Again, all times are Eastern.

Who is teaching Turkey Burn classes

This year there are six Turkey Burn classes on Thursday, November 24, with six different instructors. They are:

  1. Ben Alldis
  2. Robin Arzon
  3. Erik Jager
  4. Jess Sims
  5. Alex Toussaint
  6. Matt Wilpers

It’s a tradition to have Robin and Alex teaching these Turkey Burn classes. Originally, they were all cycling classes.

However, now that Alex is also a Tread instructor (as is Robin), his 2022 Turkey burn class is a run.

What kind of Turkey Burn classes are there

This year’s Turkey Burn classes include many more Peloton disciplines than ever before.

They are being broadcast from both the New York Peloton Studios as well as the London Studios.

This year’s lineup includes the first live broadcast rowing class on the Peloton Row with Matt Wilpers.

I say live but it was pre-recorded and will be broadcast On Demand.

Even so, I’m bummed, because my Peloton Row won’t be delivered until the week AFTER Thanksgiving.

Yes, I ended up pulling the trigger and buying the Peloton rowing machine after trying it out at PSNY during my October trip.

Live Peloton Turkey Burn Classes

Anyway, here is the list of Peloton Turkey Burn classes for 2022. All times are Eastern.

Alex Toussaint 30-Minute Turkey Burn Run at 9:00 a.m.

Erik Jager 10-Minute Full Body Stretch at 9:35 a.m. (Not sure if this is in English or German.)

Robin Arzon 45-Minute Turkey Burn Ride at 10:00 a.m.

Ben Alldis 10-Minute Full Body Stretch at 10:50 a.m.

On Demand Turkey Burn Classes

These On Demand Turkey Burn Classes will be broadcast “live” like an Encore class.

That is, they’ll appear on the schedule at the times mentioned below but they won’t be live for shoutouts or anything like that.

In other words, they are pre recorded.

Jess Sims 30-Minute Family Fit Class at 8:30 a.m.

It says there will be a special, surprise guest in Jess’ class. I wonder if it will be her dogs Sienna Grace and Shiloh. She’s had her dogs in Peloton Family Fit classes in the past.

Matt Wilpers 20-Minute Turkey Burn Premier Row Class at 11:00 a.m.

Past Turkey Burn classes in the Peloton archives

You can always use the Peloton search function to find past Turkey Burn workouts. This is a great option if you want to stack more of these classes.

For example, there are many different versions of the original Turkey Burn rides. This includes Turkey Trot runs and a Turkey Burn yoga flow.

So all kinds of Turkey Burn workout classes to choose from.

On the other hand, the Peloton search function leaves a lot to be desired.

For instance, when I typed in “Turkey” to locate these older Turkey Burn classes, it mostly returned results for artist Sofi Tukker, which was part of the All For One (AFO) festival in Summer 2022.

Also, I got lots of instructor Chase Tucker classes.

And you likely know that Chase Tucker left Peloton in Spring 2022.

This is not the first time I’ve had this search glitch happen.

While researching my article on Peloton adaptive training classes, searching for seated classes also showed me “Heated” theme Peloton classes.

Well, this comprehensive article about Peloton Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2022 can help.

It includes information about Peloton’s new price match policy, which it calls the offer match guarantee.

Also, it includes the new financing offer for the Peloton Row–yeah!

Finally, it explains holiday sales offers for Peloton users in North America (U.S. and Canada) along with the UK, Germany and Australia.

Still have questions about Peloton Turkey Burn

Do you have any other questions about the Turkey Burn classes on Peloton? If so, let me know.

Finally, there is a Countdown to Turkey Burn challenge badge in advance of the 2022 classes. I don’t recall there being anything like this in 2021.

Anyway, the challenge is to complete 10 minutes a day of classes between 10/24 and 11/24. Yeah, I’ve already earned the badge and gone 1,020 minutes over.
